US-50 Bridge Replacement

This huge project, about 4 miles from where I live, will involve the complete removal and replacement of the old, huge Waldvogel Viaduct, built in the 1940s, with four steel girder bridges. It includes the construction of nine walls, over 5 million pounds of new steel bridges, over 25,000 LF of piling and over 10,000 CY of structural concrete. That's going to lead to a lot of paintings over the next year!

Paintings done during travels to various places in the US and abroad. Most of these are done in pastel and measure 9" x 12".

Drawing skills are the most important thing of all for an artist, and drawing the figure is always valuable and challenging. One of the best things about the Cincinnati Art Club is the weekly Sketch Group sessions, where many of these were done.
