Pastel Journal has announced the winners of the annual Top 100 competition and Ray was awarded First Place in the Landscape/Interior category by juror Susan Ogilvie. In her statement Ogilvie says of his painting The Ketchup Trilogy, "This interior conveys such a vibrant and complete slice-of-life narrative. The composition is filled with an abundance of information—without feeling overwhelmed with details."  Another of Ray's works, Tall Stax Dawn, was awarded an Honorable Mention in the same competition, and both are pictured in the magazine.
Pastel Journal, April 2008, is on sale at newsstands beginning in March.
