I am very thrilled to announce that Flying the Beam (pastel 16" x 20") was chosen as a finalist in the Art Renewal Center's annual salon.

 

 

The Fish Cleaners, pastel on board 18" x 18" was recently on view in New York as part of the Pastel Society of America's 40th Anniversary show, Enduring Brilliance. It was chosen for a purchase award, and will be on display January - March 3 2013 at the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown OH with other selected works from the New York show.

 

 

 

 

Sorolla's Studio: On Wings of Art was given Honorable Mention in the Oil Painters of America Online Showcase for fall 2012. http://www.opaonlineshowcase.com/winners/92  Judge Kathleen Dunphy said: I must admit that any depiction of Sorolla's studio would get my attention, but the execution of this piece elevates the scene from just a snapshot to a work of art. Lovely indication of Sorolla's paintings in the background. Great design- the triangulation of the bright white color keeps the eye moving through the painting. That half-figure on the left looking into the painting is a bold and effective addition.
